Farace Friday - Free Tune - EXCLUSIVE - MSTRKRFT - Heartbreaker Ft. John Legend - Laid Back Luke Remix (Farace Re-Rub)

TGIFF! You know what that means! It's Farace Friday and time for some free content. First up we have a bangin video from Farace's recent set @ Hush Nightclub in Victoria BC. Farace has been playing all over in 2010 bringing his bag of dancefloor destruction with him. From Vienna Austria, to Breakspoll, to WMC and this time at "Oh Great - Schools Out" showing the Canucks how Farace gets down. Complete annihilation is what's at hand. He assaults the masses with some ridiculous edits and rubs you won’t hear anywhere else mixed in with Farace's own Grade A productions combining as one all out peak time set. How about Wolfgang's 5th Pon De Floor to get em bouncing, that's what I'm talking about. Reworking the shit out of Felguk this guy is an animal with killer instinct! Hands up and kids screaming is what it's all about when Farace drops his Re-edit of Utah Saints "Something Good" Secondly, Farace shows his generous side offering up yet another one pf his Re-rubs for you all to hurt some people with. The boys of MSTRKRFT are masterminds themselves and have released some big tunas of their own while remixing close to fifty songs from the likes of Usher, Kid Sister, Chromeo, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Their own music is constantly being redone and reworked and they have worked with some awesome vocalists like Lil Mo, on "It Aint Love" and John Legend who supplied the vocals on today’s tune. "Heartbreaker" is a fantastic piece of work with striking piano and tormented lyrics and vocals. Farace takes the 4/4 Laid Back Luke Remix and completely reworks the shit out of it turning it into a steppy bangin broken beat. More good stuff from the Breakbeat ninja known as Farace.

Free Dubstep Mix E Thuggin - Rigorous Intuition

Today we are focusing on the bassline business of Rigorous Intuition. They have released their first Dubstep mix and we've got it for you. The RI boys are repping Jacksonville FL in a big way. Consisting of former Sneaker & The Dryer member Red Echo and long time Allied Rukus front man Shattaproof. In the club you can expect pure energy from these guys with their upfront selection of heavy hitting Breaks and bass ridden Dubstep. Spanning from Tearouts all the way down to brutal Dubstep, these guys are sure to melt faces and entertain even the most avid club goer as they work their way through multiple genres never missing a beat. You'll never be sure what exactly is to come next when this crew gets behind the decks and brings the bass to a whole new level! Now I'm not going to claim to be an expert in Dubstep because I am not. I am not familiar with a lot of what is out there and it's just not my forte. That being said, I do know what I like and I know good music and good mixing when I hear it. Rigorous Intuition have compiled a devastating track listing and mixed it with expertise formulating an all business, no bullshit, in your face mix, packed with bangin tunes and bassline riddims!! Dubstep can easily lack energy with its slower tempos but RI does an excellent job of pushing things to the limit. Solid stuff!

Free Tune - Black Box - Ride on Time - Andy McAllister Re-Rub

Coming at you with the classic 80's/90's dance feel is Black Box. "Ride on Time" has all the right components to give it that nostalgic House feel. It also has all the proper elements for a number one hit as it made the top 10 in many countries, reached #1 in the UK and was the UK's best selling single of 1989. Drawing on samples from the 1980 Disco hit "Love Sensation" by Loleatta Holloway, it also gives that disco feeling and funky edge. Among other songs, Black Box are also well known for their top ten classic and club sensation "Everybody Everybody". Taking things up about 5 notches, Andy Mc Allister spins it around 180 degrees and reworks the crap out of it. Andy runs the Breakbeat, Electro and Funk label, Ground Level Recordings out of Derby, UK. For the last 4 years Andy and his crew have been running an awesome breaks night in their home of Derby that has featured artists like The Drummatic Twins, Jay Cunning, and Superstyle Deluxe. The night has garnered praise from DJ Magazine as well as IDJ so if you are in their area an you haven't made it out to the night yet, you must be pumped full of Lunesta! Andy has had his hand in some killer releases as well like "If You Want It" with fellow Breakbeat belter Break The Box and he is also putting out some dope remixes and re-rubs like today’s offering. A phat chunky break and aphotic bassline now accompany the House piano and vocals making for a fine combination. Subtle edits and effects invigorate the mix properly, transforming it into a formidable Breakbeat banger.

Free Tune - EXCLUSIVE - Robin Steal - Speedy Does It

Monday Monday..... you're always back like a bad dream. Thankfully here to save the day and give to the poor is Robin Steal. His latest venture draws on elements from 1991's Rave classic by Alpha Team, "Go Speed Go". Not quite Breaks or Dubstep it comes close to being Techno at times as well. "Speedy Does It" has a stiff crisp beat that works well against the classic vocal samples, breaking into the cartoon's theme song on the drops. Everybody get down!

Free Tune - EXCLUSIVE - A-Track - Wampercycle - J2K Edit

Holy hump day Batman, we're halfway through another week and summer is coming up fast! The best part of summers is festivals! I'll be making my way to a few myself this year as I'm sure you all will be as well. Today's tasty little tidbit is coming to you from A-Track by way of a J2K Re-Edit. A-Track has been kicking ass and taking names for over a decade. At only thirteen he took his bar mitzvah money and bought himself a set of tables and a mixer. After practicing non-stop, A-Trak emerged to win multiple world championships and formed the Allies with fellow turntablist Craze, as well as other well known djs from the circuit. Music tends to be in your blood and A-Trak's brother Dave 1, is one half of the Electrofunk duo Chromeo. Back in the late 90's, the two ran an independent hip hop label by the name of Audio Research. In 2004 Kanye West hired A-Track as his official tour DJ. How's that for a full time job! Recently having founded a new label with now partner Nick Catchdubs, Fool's Gold is dedicated to providing djs and club-goers alike with the crème de la crop in club music. His remix of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's "Heads will Roll" is awesome as well is his remix of Sebastian Teller's "Kilometer". Originals like "Shake it Down" have a good vibe and hold their own as well. Putting his club edged take on the Clipse's "Wamp Wamp" ft. Slim Thug, A-Track takes a hip hop tune and works it into a dancefloor banger. J2K picks up the tempo and chunks up the breaks while extending and reworking the arrangement. Hip hop fun with a bit of a wobbly edge, wamp wamp.

Free Tune - Si Biddle - Hype the Funk 2010

Today we have something a bit different than our norm on the menu. Si Biddle is definitely proficient in bassline business and wobbling sub frequencies. His tracks like "D Bomb" blend a bit of a Drum & Bass flavor with Fidget beats and a wonky bassline. Having started off with partner Paul Carter, Si has recently gone solo to express his influences making darker Electro music fused with Dancehall and Electronica. With releases already on multiple labels, things are just heating up for this bassline barbarian. Today's course kicks in with a smooth deep bassline and housey hats. Dropping out on the chopped up "Hype the Funk" vocal, the bassline comes back in with more authority after a short drop. The main break/build is done well and comes back in proper with solid energy. Video game sounding edits are dispersed throughout. Funky banging shiz.

Free Tune - Wolfgang Gartner - Killer - Kai Project Breaks Edit

Happy 420 Eve everyone. I hope you are all stocked up and set to go for the big day tomorrow! No other time does the phrase "Smoke em if you got em" fit more! Now I'm not saying whether or not Wolfgang Gartner smokes the green goodness but the man is definitely packing some firepower. I guess he's used to packing heat being from Austin Texas and all. When it comes to speaker shredding ass kicking in your f*$@ing face electro house, Wolfgang Gartner is the man! Every one of his tunes is peak time 4/4 of the mind blowing sorts. From "Undertaker" with its piano of the dead, to the hard hitting "Firepower" with its eerie, Tetris sounding breakdown and phenomenal editing. Wolfgang has gigs all over the world in 2010 from Brazil to the UK. If you're lucky enough to catch one of his Live sets, you won't be disappointed as he owns the floor as well bringing his glitchtastic style of Electro to the House. Today we have Wolfgang's "Killer", the Breaks edit and stepping up to the plate on edit duty is Oz native, Kai Project. Kai Project is making some moves of his own in 2010 with quality sounding stuff. Dropping in a breakbeat and adding a dash of Australian Dorrigo to the mix, Kai Project spices things up a bit. Quality stuff and you can get it right now for free. See, Mondays don't always suck.

Farace Friday - Free Tune - EXCLUSIVE - Dylan Rhymes - Kemptown Stuntin - Kick It Hot Potato Rub

Man do I love Friday's!! Especially after a week like this one. Time to kick back and relax and spend some time with friends and then on Saturday it's Dance till Dawn 9. If you are in the B.C. area of Canada, you can catch Farace on Monday April 19th @ "Oh Great! - Schools Out" Of course Friday here on the blog means it's Farace Friday so I'm sure you're all excited to get down to the music portion of this rant! As the story goes for many big names in the electronic music industry, Marvin Beaver started making beats in the late 80's making Acid House tunes. Quickly gaining recognition for his work he setup his first commercial studio in the early 90s with his friend Justin Drake. His first Breakbeat track was released under his new moniker, Dylan Rhymes in 1996. Due to an ad campaign "Naked & Ashamed" was one of his then label JBO's biggest tracks! Having worked with the who's who in dance, Dylan Rhymes has solidified his place among the elite in Electro, Breakbeat, and Tech-Funk scenes. Not to mention co-owning Lot49 with Meat Katie. Keeping himself busy on the road through 2010 you can catch him at one of many US appearances this year including a week at Burning Man in Nevada. Recent up and comer Sharooz of the UK takes Dylan's tune "Kemptown" and reworks the shit out of it giving a deep and grooving feel with a bit of a glitchy edge. Always offering you the Exclusive business, we've got the Kick It Hot Potato Rub for you. Southern fried vocals cook this one till it's done just right, spicing things up with stuntin twang. Guaranteed to get the lady's naked ;)

Free Tune - Afrojack- Daft Sound - DJ Icey Re-Rub

Happy hump day everyone! Mid way through the week and I hope everyone is having a good one! So, we may not feature the most content on this blog BUT, I try to only provide you with quality tunes! This way you can come to expect that if it's on our blog, it's gotta be a good tune! Keeping that in mind, you know I'm going to have good things to say about today's offering. Recently bursting onto the scene with his tune "Daft Sound" is Afrojack. AKA Nick Van de Wall, Afrojack hails from The Netherlands and is putting out some banging tunes! His remix of "Show Me Love" is a pumped up wobbly banger and "Daft Sound" is a squelchy driving head bangin tune with dope synths and zappy bass. The vocal sample "does sound like Daft Punk" is excellent. Twisting things up a bit DJ Icey reworks "Daft Sound" with his Florida electro breaks edge while still maintaining the overall feel and vibe. Icey also adds in some killer hip hop vocals shifting this tune into 6th gear! The main breakdown is killer. Dancefloor destroyer.

Free Tune - Slyde - Slyde Vs MGMT Booty

Based out of Brooklyn New York, MGMT is comprised of Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden. The two met in college and quickly started making music together. In 2007 Spin Magazine named them artist of the day on October 5th and in the same year Rolling Stone pegged them as "one of the top 10 artists to watch in 2008". Their first album "Oracular Spectacular" debuted at number twelve on the UK album chart and number six on the Australian ARIA Charts, as well as managing to hit number one on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart! They have now been nominated for 2 Grammys and The Justice remix of "Electric Feel", won the Grammy for "Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical" Their follow up album, "Congratulations" was just released on the 13th of April. As one might expect, it features some amazing tracks and has a classic and nostalgic feel that is hard pressed to come by in 2010. "Congratulations" is now available for purchase on their website.
"Time to Pretend" was one of the hits from their freshman album and the boys of Slyde have gone and done us a favor but sprinkling their magic all over it and then giving it away for free. Reworking it with a bit of a Florida Breakbeat style and reggae vocal snippets, Slyde churn out a dancefloor groover. Now everybody say, "Thanks Slyde".

Free Tune - Leftfield - Swords - Kouncilhouse Re-Edit

Kouncilhouse has been letting rip with the anthems lately and his re-edit of "Swords" keeps pace with his current work. Electronica monsters Leftfield have been around since 1989. Formed in London and comprised of Paul Daley and Neil Barnes, Leftfield has left a major mark on the electronic music scene over the years and they have even been referred to as "The best electronic band period" by Scott Kirkland of The Crystal Method. Most notably known for their release "Phat Planet", Leftfield has a stock pile of quality music! Originally "Swords" was a chilled out dubby sort of track with vexing vocals interweaved throughout. Elevating the energy level with bombastic beats and D&B style breaks, Kouncilhouse turns this one into an all out banger! This is one excellent summertime tune.

Taking a groovy little tune and turning it into a dancefloor banger are Dada Life with their Guerilla Fart #2 remix of "Ready for the Floor". Free Tune - EXCLUSIVE - Westbam - Hard Times - Electrixx Remix - J2K Re-Edit

Happy hump day friends and neighbors. I hope everyone's week is off to a good start! We are having amazing weather here in New England with record breaking temps today!! But I'm not your local meteorologist and I'm sure you'd rather hear about music so let's get down to business. Today we're talking about Westbam's "Hard Times" and the Electrixx Remix. Maximilian AKA Westbam was born in Germany in 1965 and in 1984 he moved to Berlin to further his djing career. He has been rocking the decks in Germany since that time including the first Love Parade in Berlin 1989. In 1991 he organized the first Mayday rave and with over 5,000 attendees, it was the largest event of this kind at the time in Germany! Westbam is still out there kicking ass on the 1's and 2's as well as organizing events and he continues to release original tunes. Westbam is also a long standing member of the Members of Mayday. "Hard Times" retains much of the original feel as the Run DMC track it gets it samples from while adding a techno groove to it. Putting a serious spin on it, no pun intended, are Electrixx. Electrixx also hail from Berlin Germany and this duo has an arsenal of releases and remixes. They engineer some serious beats with ridiculous basslines. Their remix of Tetris is insane to say the least and their take on Westbam's "Hard Times" is no exception. Thick driving bass, and glitchy edits make this track a peak time tuna to the max! J2K rubs a little breakbeat action on the original 4/4 with his Re-Edit. And of course, you can only get it here!
