Free Tunes - 4 Vini - Forever Young Mixes

Holy crap it's been almost a week since I've been able to get to the blog! No matter how hard I try sometimes you just can't get to everything. Getting things back to business in the proper way we have got five stellar free tunes up for grabs today! It's been 10 years since the groundbreaking "4 Vini" LP was released to commemorate the passing of Vini Medley (10 years ago yesterday, Nov 16th 2000), founding partner of Botchit & Scarper and one of the UK underground's true musical mavericks. Ten years later and in memory of Vini and all that he achieved, Botchit & Scarper are very proud to give to you the "Forever Young: 10 Years" EP. Originally released across two LP's on Botchit and Emotif, this EP brings together all 5 of the stunning remixes for the first time. This special free EP includes remixes of Elisabeth Troy's touching tribute to Vini "Forever Young" by such esteemed artists as MJ Cole, Atomic Hooligan Ft. Uk Apachi, Freq Nasty & BLIM, Ill Logic and Raf & Ray Keith. They hope that you enjoy these tracks as much as they still do and spare a thought for the passing of somebody very special. Starting things off is the MJ Cole Mix with it's soothing violins, grooving funky bassline and the soothing vocals of Elisabeth Troy it is a stunning and beautiful piece. Next up is the B.L.I.M. & Freq Nasty rendition. Toughening up the bass and turning up the energy this one is progressive groover steadily building along until the breakdown about three and a half in. After an extended build the low frequencies carry the groove the rest of the way. Third in line is the remix from the mighty Atomic Hooligan with a chilled out down-tempo and peaceful composition. Incorporating flared scratches and Reggae vocals it brings a bit of a different vibe to the table with some hip hop flavor reminding you to "never take life for granted!" Then we have Ill Logic & Raf bringing us the Drum & Bass business end of things. Steel drums and islandy leads lend a Caribbean feel that fit the vocals well. Rounding things out is Ray Keith with a Jungle rendition that takes things in another direction with tough drums and Amen breaks. Head on over to the Botchit & Scarper site and pick them up for yourself!
